How these dates are chosen
A date passes when it is not a Tuesday or a Saturday, not in Pitru Paksha and not in an adhika month, and the Moon is in Rohini, Mrigashira, Punarvasu, Pushya, Hasta, Chitra, Swati, Anuradha, Shravana, Dhanishta, Shatabhisha or Revati during a favorable tithi. The timing is the span when both hold, at least five minutes long; a timing that starts after 9 PM is left out.
Times are local to New York. A day runs from sunrise to sunrise, so a window after midnight belongs to the date above it.
