How these dates are chosen
A date passes when Venus and Jupiter are both visible, and not within three days either side of their setting; the Sun is in Mesha, Vrishabha, Mithuna, Tula, Vrishchika, Makara or Kumbha; the month is not an adhika month and the day is outside Chaturmas, from Devshayani Ekadashi to Prabodhini Ekadashi; and the Moon is in Rohini, Mrigashira, Magha, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Swati, Anuradha, Mula, Uttarashadha, Uttara Bhadrapada or Revati, leaving out the junction quarters of Magha, Mula and Revati. The timing is the span of that nakshatra clear of the inauspicious yogas (Vishkambha, Atiganda, Shoola, Ganda, Vyaghata, Vajra, Vyatipata, Parigha and Vaidhriti) and of Vishti and the fixed karanas, at least five minutes long.
Times are local to Jodhpur. A day runs from sunrise to sunrise, so a window after midnight belongs to the date above it.
